The high gain antenna can be realized by AMC (Artificial Magnetic Conductor) reflector that has the PMC(Perfect Magnetic Conductor) characteristics. However, a configuration of the AMC reflector is adjusted for each antenna. Thus, the optimum configuration of the AMC reflector is not researched enough. In this report, we consider the effect of the area of the arranged unit cells and the thickness of the AMC reflector with the antenna. And, we research the optimum configuration of the arranged unit cells of the AMC reflector for high gain antenna.
As the result of examination, it is understood that the optimum area of the arrangement unit cells that is realized high directive gain depends on only the AMC thickness. Moreover, In the case of the height of the dipole antenna with AMC reflector is fixed, it is found that the low-profile AMC is suitable for the high gain antenna. In this report, the configuration of the AMC reflector that has the highest gain is h=0.05λ0, the optimum area is 1.2λ0×1.2λ0, and directive gain is approximately 11dBi. |
