A tactile perception of an object texture through the white cane

(in English) To understand basic tactile perception using white canes, we compared using the index finger and using a white cane without accompanying auditory information. Four blinds were paid for participating. They walk alone with the white cane in everyday. They gave magnitude estimates for the texture of 18 sandpapers. Results showed that both using a white cane and using a finger produced lower sensitivity levels.
