(in English) The growing popularity of SNS(Social Network Services) makes it an important information resource, which has motivated all kinds of researches on its information retrieval. Among those, community discovery has gained attention due to its potential value not only in enhancing the functionality of SNS like user search or user recommendation, but also in promoting its commercial use such as targeted marketing and advertising. This paper addresses the problem of discovering communities from social network via SNS. Membership diversity is a characteristic of social networks, where a person may belong to several social groups simultaneously. Some network clustering algorithms have been put forward for detecting overlapping communities. The paper studies the essence of the application of a LDA-based approach on finding communities in SNS through a benchmark evaluation. We present a quantitative assessment of community discovery methods based on Twitter data. Our experimental results demonstrate that LDA-based network clustering is most promising among those approaches in discovering SNS communities.
