Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For many-class image annotation system, automatic construction of large-scale dataset is needed. Wild web is regarded as useful huge resource, but has problem that its images do not come with explicit labels. In this paper, we propose methods which improve estimation of labels which should be assigned to the images gathered from web using the pages' text. We address the problem by focusing on the hierarchy of words between words in text and label word. Our methods improve the accuracy of image annotation by taking external resource of the hierarchy in the system, which makes more concrete words that represents labels become able to be used for the label estimation.
