Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) Multi-tenancy in software defined networking (SDN) environment (e.g.OpenFlow) enables to accommodate networks customized for various applications. Especially, when we assume applications on the Internet, we need to realize multi-tenancy in OpenFlow on wide-area networks, i.e., networks composed of the large number of OpenFlow switches. A single controller is the bottleneck in OpenFlow. For control in a scalable manner, the distributed controller systems were proposed. However, in the proposed techniques for multi-tenancy in OpenFlow, merely a single controller system is assumed. Hence, the multi-tenancy techniques are not scalable for the physical OpenFlow networks. In this paper, we propose a method to build virtual OpenFlow networks on large-scale physical OpenFlow networks in a distributed manner. The hierarchically structured system can construct constant scale virtual OpenFlow networks, regardless of the scale of physical OpenFlow networks. Because the scales of virtual OpenFlow networks are constant, tenant controllers are not heavy loaded. Through the distributed system, instructions on the virtual OpenFlow networks are carried out in the physical OpenFlow networks.
