To obtain knowledge of the pathogenesis of cataract due to the infrared radiation exposure, we are investigating the dosimetry concern with the ocular tissues in experimental and numerical manner. The mechanism in pathogenesis of cataract is different according to the wavelength of infrared radiation, because absorption coefficients for ocular tissues rely on the wavelength of incident infrared radiation. Therefore we developed numerical simulation system which solves coupling problem for infrared energy absorption and heat transportation within ocular tissues to elucidate the difference of mechanisms on the pathogenesis of cataract. In this paper, threshold curve on the incident power and irradiation time diagram are compared between experimental data and numerical simulation data. |
