White space utilization in TV band has drawn much attention in many countries as one of the solutions to solve the frequency resource depletion issue which is becoming a serious problem due to the increasing demand for broadband communication services. In this trend, standardization of IEEE 802.22 which is standard for wireless regional area network using TV band has been completed in July 2011.IEEE 802.22b task group was established as amendment of IEEE 802.22 for enhanced broadband services and monitoring applications aiming to enhance the maximum data rate and maximum number of supported devices. In this paper, we introduce a prototype equipment for feasibility study on IEEE standard 802.22 realization. The equipment has following functions: multiple access scheme using OFDMA, channel switch of operating channel, waveform shaping using windowing function, and so on. In this paper, the results of functional test and performance evaluation in laboratory are shown by video transmission of camera between CPEs under Point-to-Multipoint system, connection continuity verification after channel switching, throughput performance and spectrum mask measurement. |
