The purpose of the present study was to measure event-related potentials of perceptual filling-in of a moving line segment at the blind spot. A horizontally moving line segment and a probe line segment below the blind spot were presented. There were two conditions: filling-in and control. In filling-in condition, the moving line segment came into contact with the blind spot and, in control condition, the moving line segment was outside the blind spot. Spectral was calculated for 500 ms, after the moving line segment arrived on the probe line segment. The results of event-related potentials in occipital lobe showed that powers of spectral in Gamma and Alpha rhythms were significantly larger in the filling-in condition than those in the control condition. The results suggest that powers of spectral increased in different region of occipital lobe from V1, when perceptual filling-in of a moving line segment occurred at the blind spot. On the other hand, more detailed examination is required, since the regions in Gamma and Alpha rhythms differed. |
