Real time communication with Supercomputer for Whole Insect Brain Simulation

(in English) To elucidate how a brain processes information has important role in neuroscience, and also in the field such as engineering to which neuroscience is applied. For this purpose, by using a supercomputer, we aim to run the real time simulation of an insect brain, which has fewer neurons then a mammalian brain. Adaptive behaviors of animals are generated not only from neural networks but also from the interaction with the body and the environment, so we make the supercomputer and a robot to communicate. The robot works on the result of the simulation. In this study, we consider the system in which the supercomputer "K computer" and a robot communicate on a real-time basis.
