| (in English) | Theoretical evaluation of last{the quantization} error of the $beta$-encoder, that is a non-binary analog-to-digital converter (ADC) based on $beta$-expansion, is given. Although a $beta$-encoder is considered to be robust against large process variation and widelast{spread} environment change, its mean-squared-error has not yet been analyzed theoretically, due to non-uniform distribution of the quantization error. In this study, we propose a new method to calculate the upper bound of the mean-squared-error caused by the quantization of $beta$-encoder. Based on this method, we provide a theoretical evaluation of signal-to-noise ratio of the $beta$-encoder. |
