Design of SFQ digital circuit for photon number resolving detector using SNSPD

(in English) Superconducting nanowire single photon detectors (SNSPDs), those have a low dark count rate characteristics, fast and low jittering response, and high quantum efficiency, are expected to be used in the quantum information field and time-of-flight (TOF) mass spectrometry etc. A readout circuit using superconducting single-flux-quantum (SFQ) logic circuits has been developed to realize fast and low-jittering readout for an array of SNSPDs. SNSPDs with series-parallel meander type configurations have been demonstrated to have photon number resolving capabilities and are expected to be used for an evaluation system of single photon generators and/or an energy-dissolved fast detector for new generation TOF mass spectrometry. In this study, we present design, fabrication and confirmation of correct operations of an SFQ digital readout circuit for an SNSPD with series-parallel meander type configuration.
