Ni/Co superlattice is a promising candidate for spintronic devices in which domain wall (DW) displacement dominates the device performance. Owing to the characteristics of Ni/Co superlattice, e.g. perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, high spin polarization and low Gilbert damping constant, the low critical current density to drive DW and high DW velocity can be achieved. However, the DW energy $sigma_w$ which is one of key parameters to determine the magnetic domain size has not been reported up to now. In present study, the DW energy $sigma_w$ of Ni(111)/Co(111) superlattice possessing perpendicular magnetic anisotropy prepared by a molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) technique is determined. |
