Cycle-based failure recovery by distributed controllers of OpenFlow
Junichi Nagano, Norihiko Shinomiya (Soka Univ.) NS2013-129
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study has proposed an implementation of a failure recovery method based on fundamental tie-sets for OpenFlow networks with a single controller. Multi-controllers would be better in terms of reliability and scalability of a control plane in more realistic networks. However, implementing the recovery method on the controllers can cause delays of recovery and inconsistent route changes because of differnce of state information among the controllers. Thus, this paper proposes a method reducing the shared informaion of controllers by layering a control plane and discusses its implementation.
