[Invited Talk] Collaborative Interference Cancellation for Multi-User MIMO Communication Systems

(in English) Multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission is studied intensively in order to improve the spectrum efficiency of wireless communication systems. The performance of MU-MIMO is limited due to the presence of multi-user interference. Although a linear interference cancellation scheme requires lots of antennas, it is difficult to expect lots of antennas for mobile stations. In this paper, a collaborative interference cancellation scheme is proposed and investigated. In this scheme, received signal sharing between mobile stations is employed in order to enhance the interference cancellation capability. For collaborative interference cancellation, a short-range wireless communication interface is utilized. Transmission experiments in an actual indoor environment is conducted in order to evaluate the performance of the collaborative interference cancellation scheme implemented in the MU-MIMO testbed.
