[Poster Presentation] Routing and Moving Control Methods Using Only Passive RFID for Robot Navigation Systems

(in English) Today, robot navigation systems have been enthusiastically researched in the world for assisting the elderly and physically handicapped people. The existing those systems need to combine some technology such as odometry, cameras, and wireless communications to control robots. In order to simplify the system, this paper presents new routing and moving control methods using only passive RFID for robot navigation systems. RFID is popular, inexpensive, and very easy to store information in an RFID tag. The feature of this system is to enable the routing and moving control of robots using only information in RFID tags. We carry out the performance evaluations by some experiments using our robot.
