Compressed Sensing based channel estimation for MIMO-OFDM with ESPAR antenna

(in English) We have proposed a Multiple Input Multiple Output-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) receiver with an Electronically Steerable Passive Array Radiator (ESPAR) antenna that can improve the bit error rate (BER) performance and obtains additional diversity gain without increasing the number of Radio Frequency (RF) front-end circuits. In our previous presentation, a Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE)-based channel estimator is employed to obtain the channel state information, but it introduces a considerable degradation in the BER performance because of insufficient estimation accuracy. In this paper, we propose to use compressed sensing based channel estimation for MIMO-OFDM with ESPAR antenna. The simulation results show that using the proposed channel estimation the BER performance is improved and it is closer to the BER with perfect channel state information.
