Parameter Optimization for Adaptive Control CRE in HetNet

(in English) Heterogeneous networks (HetNet) are expected to handle increasing demand for mobile network capacity and has been mainly discussed in LTE-Advanced. In HetNet, cell range expansion (CRE) technique uses an offset to be added to the received signal power coming from pico eNBs and expands equivalently the coverage of pico eNBs, for adjusting the traffic loaded on macro eNBs and pico eNBs. It is known that this bias remarkably affects the whole system performance. Adaptive Control CRE is proposed, which selects optimal cell selection offset (CSO) for each UE according to their condition. In this paper, we evaluated the user throughput performance as parameters of the proposed method's parameters by system level simulation and clarified the best parameter set.
