Performance of Cognitive Temporary Bypassing Method Considering Location of Neighbor Nodes

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) The cognitive temporary bypassing (CTB) method was proposed to improve the transmission reliability of wireless ad hoc networks. It autonomously creates a temporary bypass link when a transmission error happens on a link. In this paper, we analyze the packet transmission success rate with this protocol considering the location of two neighboring nodes on a two-dimensional plane. The results of theoretical calculation show that some node location limits the improvement of bypassing. A prioritization method based on timing control of CTB control messages is proposed, which chooses a bypassing node with higher bypassing capability. The packet transmission success rate is increased by the use of this prioritization method.
