Radiation and Electromagnetic Interference Characteristics in Tilted Microstrip Lines

(in English) Microwave Integrated Circuits contain complex geometrical structures of microstrip lines in highly dense integrated systems for high frequencies of microwaves and high switching speed. Microstrip lines are most popular types of open-type planar transmission lines for integrated circuits in the microwave frequency bands. Electromagnetic fields of guided waves in microstrip lines are perturbed at the tilted line junctions and corners with reflections and radiations. Perturbed fields and radiation fields are coupled to near other microstrip lines and field interferences are generated among several microstrip lines, in microwave integrated circuits. These important electro-magnetic compatibility problems are analyzed by FDTD method, particularly for different tilt angles from 0°to 90°. Perturbed fields at tilted junctions are studied for mode conversions, scatterings and radiations. Based on these fundamental studies of perturbed fields at irregular junctions, the optimum circuit design may be accomplished for microwave integrated circuits of highly densities with passive and active devices, without interferences satisfying electromagnetic compatibility.
