BOR-FDTD analysis of a dielectric waveguide with plasmonic core-shell nanoparticles

(in English) A dielectric waveguide with a plasmonic core-shell nanoparticle is analyzed using the body-of-revolution finite-difference time-domain (BOR-FDTD) method. The use of the core-shell leads to a reflectance of less than 0.03 at a wavelength of 640 nm. Furthermore, a radiation efficiency of around 0.8 is maintained with subsequent high directivity. Next, we evaluate the actual gain to optimize the configuration parameters. As a result, a gain increase of about 1 dB can be obtained over a visible wavelength range of longer than 525 nm. Finally, we consider an array structure consisting of a series of the core-shells. The array of the core-shells leads to an increase in the actual gain.
