A Characteristic of the Parallel Operation for LLC Current-Mode Resonant Converters in High-Voltage DC Power Distribution Systems

(in English) Recently, power consumption of data center is increasing with the increasing of information and communication traffic. As the result, the power consumption at data centers is rapidly increased. Therefore, the High-Voltage DC(HDVC) power distribution system is examined for saving power consumption at data centers. Here, it is assumed that a high-efficiency, high-power-density DC-DC converter is used in the input rectifier stage of an HVDC power supply system. This paper presents a scheme of the usage of an LLC current-mode resonant converter as the high-efficiency, high-power-density DC-DC converter mentioned above. However, at higher power capacity, the power efficiency deteriorates due to higher peak current, and it is difficult to fabricate a higher-power converter as a single body. In this paper, multiple LLC current resonant converters of 1 to 2kW are connected in parallel in order to increase the total power. The research target of this paper is to analyze the parallel operation of multiple LLC resonant converters with dynamic and load characteristic.
