Eigen Code Acquisition without Channel Estimation in Vector Coding

(in English) OFDM can be considered as one of CDM(Code Division Multiplexing) whose spreading codes are orthogonal sine waves. Recently, vector coding(VC), which can be also regarded as a CDM and has better performance than OFDM, is receiving attention. VC is a CDM whose spreading codes are eigen-vectors of the synthetic channel that consists of channel and its matched filter(MF). VC achieves ideal path diversity with maximum ratio combining due to MF to channel while keeping orthogonality among received vectors after MF. Precise channel estimation is essential in implementation of VC to real system otherwise its reception performance can easily degrade. To acquire eigen-vectors, this paper proposes Ping-Pong Loop(PPL), a novel technique that requires no channel estimation.
