In this paper, a novel methodology is proposed to predict semantics of significant places extracted from locations associated with communication records of mobile phones. Contributions of this paper are as follows. First, our proposed method classifies eight classes of place semantics as is the case with official person trip surveys. Second, our proposed method enhances accuracy by selecting training data with high similarity in terms of stay patterns for each user. The accuracy of our method is demonstrated by experiments using actual communication records of 160 subjects. |
