The Concept of the Sensing Platform for Energy Harvesting Wireless Sensors and its Feasibility Study

(in English) The authors have conducted the research and development of technologies to virtualize the radio receivers over wide areas aiming at a sensing platform, where energy harvesting wireless sensors or self-powered wireless sensors requiring no batteries are applicable. The computation power implementing the radio receivers compensates the functional instabilities of energy harvesting wireless sensors. The real world information is ultimately expected to be collected by huge number of wireless sensors embedded in the materials around us. This paper describes the concept of the sensing platform, and proposes a wireless sensor architecture using multi-sub-carriers with experimental study results on its feasibility.
