Fundamental experiments for HDD-type ferroelectric data strage with a density of 2 Tbit/inch2

(in English) Ferroelectric data storage system records the data bits in the form of the polarization direction. In this system, data bits are read by scanning nonlinear dielectric microscopy (SNDM). The domain wall of typical ferroelectric materials is as thin as a few lattice parameters, which is favorable for high-density data storage. Up to now, we demonstrated that the smallest single nanodomain dot with a size of 2.8 nm diameter was successfully formed and real information data with a density of 4 Tbit/inch2 has been achieved. In this paper, we introduce fundamental experiments of ferroelectric data storage system including most recent study result which demonstrate recording with a density of 2 Tbit/inch has been achieved in rotating state by HDD-type ferroelectric data storage system.
