Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) This study is aimed to clarify the relationship between annoyance towards sound and biological signals (electroencephalogram: EEG and phtotoplethysmogram: PPG) when loudness sensitivity changes. In this study, we used magnitude estimation method by having subjects evaluate the loudness sensitivity and the clarify pure relationship between annoyance and biological signals eliminating the effect of loudness sensitivity. As a result, change rate of EEG delta band power ratio showed significant correlation with annoyance, and not with loudness sensitivity. Change rate of PPG peak-to-peak value showed significant correlation with both loudness and loudness sensitivity, and partial correlation between change rate of PPG peak-to-peak value was also significant. Generally, it is said that delta band EEG doesn't emerge in neocortex when human is awake and information of emotion is processed in paleocortex, and decreasing of peak-to-peak value of PPG shows that activity of sympathetic nervous system is increasing. Therefore, the present study suggests that difference of annoyance caused by difference of loudness sensitivity is related to activity of paleocortex and sympathetic nervous system.
