Determination Method of Pixel Values for Combined Single-line and Multi-line Scanning Method and Image Quality

(in English) A combined single-line and multi-line scanning method reduces the address period while maintaining image quality. The errors of pixel values caused by the multi-line scanning method are compensated when the pixels are scanned by the single-line scanning method. However as the number of simultaneously scanned line increases, image quality degrades. In this report, we propose a revised determination method of the pixel value for simultaneously scanned pixels. It is determined taking account the perceived luminance of the errors. From the observation of a simulated image with the proposed method, it is verified that it effectively suppresses image degradation. Subjective evaluation with PSNR taking into account the human visual system indicates that the high picture quality is maintained when the number of simultaneously scanned line is more than 3.
