An architectural distortion is one of the important indications related to breast cancer on ultrasonographic images. It is difficult to determine whether a lesion with architectural distortion is malignant or benign because they are obscure. We developed a CAD scheme for histological classification of breast mass. However, the extraction method in our CAD scheme did not include the objective features for architectural distortion. By combining the objective features for architectural distortion with previous objective features, there would be a possibility that classification accuracy of our CAD scheme is improved. The purpose of this study was to develop a extraction method for architectural distortion and to develop a CAD scheme for determining histological classifications of breast masses using objective features for architectural distortion and previous objective features. |
