Study of Identification of the Breathing Phase of the X-ray Fluoroscopy and the 3D-CT Image by the Mutual Information

(in English) A purpose of this study is to synchronize with the breathing phase of 3D-CT image and the X-ray fluoroscopic image for the 4D dose calculation that is necessary for dynamic tracking radiation therapy. The digital reconstructed radiograph(DRR) which was reconstituted from a 3D-CT image and the X-ray fluoroscopy were compared and same respiratory phase images were determined using mutual information as a similarity of the image.
Veri cation test was performed using the 4D-CT images at end-exhalation and end-inspiration and X-ray fluoroscopic images acquired during one cycle of breathing. The mutual information and the positional consistency of the diaphragm between the two images were compared.
The identi cation of respiratory phase can be determined by the mutual information. However, a large error was observed depending on the image quality.
