Position and velocity imaging of moving objects using the M-sequence modulated ultrasound

(in English) Pulse compression using M-sequence modulated signals can improve the SNR of the reflected echo and distance resolution in the pluse-echo method. In the case of a moving object, however, the echo is modulated due to the Doppler effect. The Doppler-shifted M-sequence modulated signal cannot be correlated with the reference signal, which is the transmitted phase or amplitude modulated signal with M-sequence. Therefore, Doppler velocity estimation from spectral characteristics of M-sequence modulated signals before the correlation process and cross correlation of the received signal with the Doppler-shifted reference signal has been proposed. In this report, Doppler velocity and two-dimensional position estimation with microphone array is described. Then, accuracy and resolution of the estimated Doppler velocity and position are verified by experiments..
