ESD Simulation by LIM/FDTD Hybrid Method

(in English) In this paper, we propose the hybrid circuit and full-wave simulation method for electrostatic discharget (ESD) events in the contact discharge mode. In the proposed method, the domain decomposition is based on the leapfrog algorithm in which two types of variables are allocated in alternate shifts. The simulations of LIM (latency insertion method) and FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) method based on the leapfrog algorithm are performed in alternate shifts. We can apply the circuit simulation to the domain of which the equivalent circuit is easy to derive and apply the full-wave simulation to the domain of which the equivalent circuit is difficult to derive by using the proposed method. From the numerical validation, we show the proposed method is effective.
