Development process of pragmatic interpretation of ambiguous utterance -- Strategies of Reference Assignment in school-age from preschooler --

(in English) Current study examined the development of the strategies of reference assignment to ambiguous utterance from 3-year-old to 3rd grade children. Results showed that the number of appropriate responses did not increase after 5-year-olds, and the pattern that the number of appropriate responses decreased in high-ambiguity question was consistent through 5-year-olds to 3rd grade children. Moreover, the error analysis suggested that the shape bias emerged from 5-year-olds and the 5-year-olds to 2nd grade children tend to interpret the sequence of instruction in a context thrifty.
