Experimental study on propagation of laser-induced emergent stress wave -- Dynamic observation around the laser target --

(in English) The laser-induced emergent stress wave (LIESW) is used for gene transfection into cell, which propagates in short distance during extremely short time (~ 5 μs). Therefore, it is difficult to observe this phenomenon around laser target with the naked eye immediately after pulsed laser irradiation. A possibility of other physical phenomenon except for LIESW activity could not be denied because generation of LIESW is associated with the expansion of the laser-target. In this paper, we discuss the influence of the liquid flow on adherent cell through dynamic observation using a high speed camera after pulsed laser irradiation and analyzing the observed images.
