A Study on Elastic Optical OFDM Receiver Algorithms and System Architectures

(in English) A research project on a novel optical network configuration is proceeding, which can efficiently accommodate multiple services by creating elastic optical paths with optical OFDM signals. To realize the elastic optical paths, optical OFDM receiver algorithms are needed, which can adaptively process received signals even if the parameters of transmitted OFDM signals are dynamically changed. In this paper, we propose an estimation scheme of the FFT size of the received OFDM signal to demodulate signals adaptively at a receiver. Based on the simulation and experiment, we confirm that the proposed scheme can maintain BER performance, even when the FFT size of the transmitted signal is changed.
