Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) For over the top (OTT) voice communication services in mobile networks, there are several quality degradation factors (speech quality, delay, speech level, echo etc.). Therefore, quality design based on quality of experience (QoE) with consideration for these factors are important approach for service providers. Therefore, we focused on delay that is one of major quality degradation factors as a first step. We analyzed characteristics of delay variant and proposed that the different processing was executed for sound/silent duration in such services.
Conversation scenario (business or leisure usage) has a different speech pattern that is consisted of sound/silent duration, and the length of sound/silent duration is different in different conversation scenario.
This length may have effects on delay measurements results. However, the degree of this effects is unknown. In this paper, we obtain delay measurement results by using speech signal that consists of various length of sound/silent duration, and we show that the difference of speech pattern have a large effects on delay measurement results and it is necessary to consider speech pattern in delay measurement.
