Conceptual class diagram creation support system based on conversion method from a Japanese description to simple sentences

(in English) The authors have proposed a conversion method from Japanese descriptions to a class diagram based on cognitive linguistics. Unlike the previous studies, in this paper, the authors consider a class diagram can be converted to one of the seven sentence patterns than the five sentence patterns of English. The authors create the rules to convert a Japanese simple sentence to a part of a class diagram based on the seven sentence patterns. By using these rules, Japanese descriptions can be converted into a class diagram. Compared with the previous studies, the description of the well-known “Mono Koto Mono Pattern" in Japanese becomes smooth by the newly defined rules. However, the conversion form Japanese descriptions to a class diagram has some problems: increasing the conceptual class diagram creation time due to repetitive work, and increasing the Japanese description modification time when fixing the conceptual class diagram. In order to solve these problems, the authors implemented a conceptual class diagram creation support system based on the conversion method from Japanese descriptions to a class diagram. The system reduces the conceptual class diagram creation time, and realized the simultaneous modification of the original Japanese descriptions and a class diagram.
