We compare error correction capability between LDPC and Sourlas codes for image digital watermarking. In the case of embedding watermarks by using QIM, messages are extracted with $15%$ error at a maximum due to JPEG compression. We, therefore, consider to correct errors of messages by error-correction codes; LDPC and Sourlas codes. Sourlas code has high redundancy, since messages are encoded by parity bits. By adjusting number of parity bits, messages are encoded by shortest code length of parity bits. In other words, it can decode from a part of parity bits. LDPC code is one of good error-correcting codes. It is difficult to adjust code length of watermarks, and also capability for error correction is different by code rate. When encoding messages by long code length, they are encoded by short code length, and then watermarks are embedded many times. In this case, since errors can be corrected by majority voting, it is possible to improve capability for error correction. In this report, we compare error correction capability between them, and then LDPC code with majority voting has better performance than the others. |
