Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We proposed a novel Radio-On-Demand Sensor and Actuator Networks(ROD-SAN) system architecture which allows the efficient use of electrical power and the improvement of response time in Wireless Sensor and Actuator Node. The ROD-SAN’s node is equipped with an ultra-low power wake-up receiver. The node changes its state from sleep to active when receiving a dedicated wake-up signal sequence from surrounding nodes. The node automatically enters the sleep state when there is no demand for wireless data communication from/to the nodes. In this paper, we describe the basic functions of our proposed ROD-SAN. In addition, to identify ROD-SAN’s power consumption, we compare the power consumption with the IEEE 802.15.4e. As a result, a single node is able to reduce up to 45% of power consumption.
