Study of Enhancement of Availability and Operability by Cooperated with Optical/IP Operation

(in English) Current carrier core network is required high availability and realizes it by duplexing network elements as transmission lines, OXCs and routers. On the other hand, it is an issue that increase in cost of maintenance to keep high availability. Multiplex network is effective for reduction of maintenance cost because it can keep more than duplex network against single failure and maintenance. In this paper, we propose dynamic switching method to shared backup for routers in order to keep duplex network against single failure and maintenance. Our idea is optical signal copy in order to keep IP layer topology. We showed examples of application to OSPF and BGP of the proposed method and experiments to confirm the feasibility of proposed method. Experiments showed that proposed method can apply for synchronization of route informations.
