Flexible Traffic Control on Layer-2 Network

(in English) We propose a bandwidth control method to use surplus bandwidth properly and efficiently in a wide area Ethernet service. In recent years, as a form of private line services, VLANs over a wide-area Ethernet are provided. In order to efficiently utilize the band in such a service, there is a method to share surplus bandwidth among VLANs. However, if the bandwidth is shared by some VLANs with simple policy, an unfair traffic may occur. In this paper, we propose a bandwidth control method to eliminate the sense of unfairness by grouping the associated VLANs. We also describe application of our method.
