Cloud OS, such as OpenStack, enables to construct an IaaS cloud easily. However, it is difficult to estimate IaaS demand due to its fluctuation. It is important to elastically extend a data center using another data center resources in order to reduce CAPEX and OPEX.
We propose the HaaS extension model that an IaaS administrator can seamlessly extend his IaaS environment over a HaaS tenant provided by a HaaS provider.
In this paper, we have developed a prototype system of the Iris HasS configuration system. We define a REST interface for deployment, status query and deletion of a HaaS tenant and implement the interface by using Nested KVM and overlay-style network virtualization of Open vSwitch and GRE tunnel. The experiments show that our prototype system can quickly deploy and delete a HaaS tenant. |
