This paper addresses the issue of how to design wireless communication for post-disaster safety information registration which would be used by wounded people to issue information in the indoor environments. After disasters, existing cellular communication systems will be unavailable in most cases due to congestion. Further, GPS system will be also not available in the indoor environments. To cope with these problems, this paper presents a novel wireless communication scheme for safety information registration using DTN(Delay/Disruption Tolerant Networks), realized by ad hoc WiFi equipped with users' mobile terminals. In this system, it is needed to reduce the number of safety message packets copied and forwarded by each user terminal while keeping the delay performance, which will prolong terminal battery life and network life. We present a novel restricted forwarding method in which the area of message packet propagation in DTN is efficiently limited,by using the information of relative movement direction and distance information between each terminal. |
