Recent experimental findings suggest that the hippocampal network including CA1 and CA3 regions stores spatio-temporal spike patterns and retrieves temporally reversed and spread-out patterns. Under the as- sumption that the CA1 network functions as a hetero-associative memory, we derived pairs of spike-timing-depen- dent-plasticity (STDP) window function and phase response curve (PRC) that are optimal for retrieval of normal, reversal and spread-out spike patterns. In this research, we focus on the CA3 network with recurrent connections, which is suggested that it functions as an auto-associative memory. We numerically demonstratethat the recur- rent network consisting of STDP window function and PRC can realize reversal and spread-outrecalls, and specify necessary conditions on pairs of STDP window function and PRC for realizing such recalls. |
