Local sound area generation using a circular loudspeaker array and an additional loudspeaker

(in English) Reproduction errors are occurred except at the reference circle in sound field reproduction using a circular loudspeaker array due to the dimension mismatch. Because point sources instead of line sources are used for implementations of circular loudspeaker array systems. A novel local sound reproduction method nearby the array is proposed based on this dimension mismatch. In the proposed method, a virtual point source centered in a circular array is reproduced by a circular loudspeaker array and an additional real point source centered at a circular array is reproduced in anti-phase simultaneously. Driving functions for reproducing a virtual point source centered at in an array using a circular loudspeaker array are analytically derived. Computer simulation results show that the proposed method can realize local sound reproduction nearby a circular array.
