A Data Protection Mechanism for Automotive Control Software

(in English) Automotive control software has been getting large and complex so that it can extend functionality and extensibility. Furthermore, it is necessary to guarantee safety and reliability of the software based on functional safety standards for automotive electronic control system such as ISO 26262. Therefore, the need for memory protection has been increasing as a solution of functional safety. Because conventional methods use memory protection provided by processor units as a hardware function, it is difficult to apply the memory protection for all the software in automotive systems which require cost reduction. In this paper, in order to reduce the cost, we propose a data protection mechanism for the automotive control systems using software function.
