The Effect of a Reliable Groupcast Scheme on QoE of Audio and Video Transmission over a Wireless LAN

(in English) In this report, we assess the effect of LBP (Leader Based Protocol), which is a reliable groupcast scheme, on QoE of audio and video transmission over a wireless LAN. We assume that a wireless access point transmits audio and video streams from a server on a wired network to several terminals connected to the access point. We compare the three schemes: unicast, groupcast without reliablity, and LBP. A computer simulation is performed with various load and wireless channel conditions to assess QoS, and a subjective experiment is carried out for QoE assessment. From the assessment results, we confirm that LBP achieves higher QoE than unicast and groupcast without reliability under various situations.
