Abstract Yamanashi Prefecture actively engages in the tourism promotion. Public and private sectors worked together and started a project named “Yamanashi Free Wi-Fi project”. This project provided easy access free Wi-Fi service and multilingual contents for foreign tourists who visit Fujisan. The feature of the project is sharing vision between public and private and offering contents which promote safe and enjoyable trip and touring around Yamanashi for foreign tourists by utilizing developed Wi-Fi service. Specifically, the project realized launching “web site that tells foreign tourists how to experience local culture and foods”and“secondary traffic information service”as a multilingual travel support service by Wi-Fi network wherever tourists are. Because persons concerned with the project can derive a benefit from this scheme, typical Wi-Fi access points can be found in locations concerning traffic, tourism and lodging. The project is praised by multinational tourists who rapidly increase triggered by The World Heritage of Fujisan in June 2013 for providing Wi-Fi access service equipped with various multilingual contents which provide tourist information.
