Evaluation of Fairness between Different Types of TCP Congestion Control -- In Case between CUBIC and FAST TCP --

(in English) Congestion control is one of the most important feature of TCP, and various TCP Congestion Controls, such as CUBIC, FAST TCP have been proposed so far. CUBIC is loss-based control proposed for high delay bandwidth networks, and FAST TCP is delay-based control proposed for high bandwidth networks. When different types of congestion controls are used in same network, the fairness among the different types of controls may be deteriorated. However the fairness has not been sufficient clarified. Therefore, it is important to investigate fairness among different types of congestion controls. In this report, Fairness between CUBIC and FAST TCP has been evaluated by simulation. As a result, the fairness can be ensured when network delay, packet loss rate or network bandwidth is not so large. However, the fairness deteriorates when network delay, packet loss rate or network bandwidth becomes large .
