Today, in the field of ultrafast spectroscopy, Ti:Sapphire laser is mainly used as ultrashort pulsed light source. However, in the case of utilizing this laser, subject molecule need to absorb near-infrared light. Generally, visible and near- infrared light pulses outside the range between 700~900 nm is generated by OPA and OPO, in which both high pulse repetition and broadband spectrum cannot be simultaneously fulfilled. Here we report a femtosecond light source around 1 μm in the combination of a mode-locked Yb:KYW oscillator and Yb:fiber amplifier. The seed spectrum was broadened to 200-nm bandwidth using a photonic crystal fiber. We successfully obtained 150 nJ, 3 MHz, 1020~1100 nm at 1 μm by fiber amplification which employs gain narrowing compensator. Amplified pulses were compressed down to 200-fs duration using a grating pair, which was still larger than the transform limited duration of 50 fs. |
