Various kinds of services for home networks have been proposed with an increase of available home networked appliances such as PCs, AV devices and Wi-Fi routers. This trend will be accelerated in the future since many different types of connected devices such as non-IP sensor devices have been rapidly available in the market. In addition to that trend, many web applications with Web API have been invented recently and various APIs will be demanding. In this paper, we have proposed a new framework where functionalities of devices can be utilized through the defined APIs on the cloud, called DFV (Device Functions Virtualization). |
